A STATUS Yellow rain warning has been issued for Limerick and a number of other counties for this weekend. A more severe Status Orange warning will be in place for Cork and Kerry.
That’s according to Met Éireann, who are warning of river and surface flooding, difficult travelling conditions, and poor visibility on Limerick roads from 6pm this Saturday evening lasting until midnight on Sunday into Monday morning.
Also impacted by the Status Yellow warning on Saturday are counties Clare, Cork, Kerry, Donegal, and all of Connacht.
The Status Yellow will be extended to Tipperary, Waterford, and Wexford from midnight on Saturday, while a more severe Status Orange rain warning will come into effect for Cork and Kerry from 3am on Sunday morning.
The weather service is warning of flood risk due to higher river levels and saturated ground.
