VILLIERS School in Limerick City was among schools nationwide taking part in Stand Up Awareness Week, a national anti-bullying campaign coordinated by the national LGBTQ+ youth organisation Belong To – LGBTQ+ Youth Ireland.
Throughout the week, educators and young people stood together against LGBTQ+ bullying – creating school and youth service environments where LGBTQ+phobic bullying is not just tackled but prevented.
Speaking about their participation, LGBTQ+ Quality Mark Lead and Librarian at Villiers School, Eoghan Kavanagh said “the week is an opportunity for our students and staff to stand together against homophobic, biphobic and transphobic bullying, and to celebrate the diversity that strengthens our school community”.
