
LIMERICK is in for a snap freeze this weekend, with the national weather service warning of temperatures between -2 and -4 overnight this Saturday (January 3).
Met Éireann issued a Status Yellow snow and ice warning for the entire Munster region, coming into effect from 6pm on Saturday and lasting until 11am on Sunday morning.
The weather service warned of “sharp or severe frost and icy stretches”, which are likely to lead to hazardous travel conditions.
The Status Yellow warning also includes Carlow, Dublin, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath, Wexford, and Wicklow.

- Attic: Up to €1,500 Grant
- Cavity Walls: Up to €1,700 Grant
- Internal Dry Lining: Up to €4,500 Grant
And while other counties may be in for a white new year, snowfall in Limerick is unlikely.
A Status Yellow snow and ice warning was issued for counties Cavan, Donegal, Monaghan, Louth, and all of Connacht.
Met Éireann predicted hazardous travel conditions and poor visibility for the same overnight period in these counties.
