€30,000 WAS donated to the Marie Keating Foundation from funds raised from the 2025 Mayor’s Charity Dinner, held this past May at Limerick’s Strand Hotel.
Mayor John Moran, himself a survivor of bowel cancer, chose the charity for his annual gala to raise awareness on the disease and its early detection.
Over 430 guests attended the event, contributing to the cause to the tune of €30,000 through the purchase of tickets to the sold-out dinner and donations on the night.
Mayor Moran said: “It is both a personal and professional honour to present these much-needed funds to the Marie Keating Foundation from the proceeds of our 2025 Charity Dinner. As someone who knows what it means to confront cancer, the Foundation’s work resonates profoundly with me.”
