THERAPY Sessions will be hosted by poet Stephen James Smith at The Whitehouse Bar on Wednesday January 14 and is presented in association with Limerick Writers’ Centre and Lime Square Poets. On the bill is Emma Langford, Melissa Shaginoff and Lauren McNamara.
Melissa Shaginoff (pictured) is part of the Udzisyu (caribou) and Cui Ui Ticutta (fish-eater) clans from Nay’dini’aa Na Kayax (Chickaloon Village, Alaska). She is of Ahtna and Paiute descent. Melissa is travelling from Canada and will share poems, stories and music alongside an eclectic mix of Irish artists. Singer-songwriter Emma Langford will be onstage too alongside local poet and First Wednesday co-host Lauren McNamara. “Expect great music, close-up readings, luminous vocals, an uplifting and memorable night”, say organisers. Entry is free and donations are accepted.
