Horses seized from Limerick business park

TWO horses were seized by Limerick City and County Council from a business park on the outskirts of Limerick City just before Christmas.

A Council statement confirmed that an eight-year-old brown and white female horse and a year-and-a-half old brown and white male horse were seized from the Blackberry Business Park on the Dock Road on December 23.

According to the Council, the owners or keepers of the abandoned animals are not known.

Abandoned horses seized by the Council, if not claimed by their owner within five days, are re-homed to shelters outside of Limerick in accordance with the 1996 Control of Horses Act.
