
TWO Limerick institutions have been awarded funding following a government announcement on the expansion of domestic, sexual, and gender-based violence services nationwide.
The announcement came from Justice Minister Jim O’Callaghan, with Limerick Minister of State at the Justice Department confirming that ADAPT and Rape Crisis Mid West were to receive a combined €206,535.09.
ADAPT Domestic Abuse Services were to receive €85,754, while €123,781.09 was announced for Rape Crisis Mid West.
The allocation comes as part of a nationwide funding round of €3.2million to support domestic, sexual, and gender-based violence services.

- External Walls: Up to €8,000 Grant
- Attic: Up to €1,500 Grant
- Cavity Walls: Up to €1,700 Grant
- Internal Dry Lining: Up to €4,500 Grant
Minister Collins said such violence is an “epidemic in our society”, adding “it is a whole of society issue, and it requires a whole of society as well as a whole of government response”.
