BAD news for shoppers as two popular mens retailers at the Crescent Shopping Centre in Limerick City shuttered for the final time this week.

An online post on the social media pages of brother retail outlets Camden Square and Tailor of Blue, both based at the Crescent Shopping Centre, confirmed that the stores have ceased trading.

It comes at the same time as confirmation that Irish and UK retailer chain Claire’s Accessories is being put into administration as a “last-ditch” effort to save operations within the company.

Nearly 1,500 Claire’s Accessories staff across its Irish and UK stores may be fearing the risk of redundancy as a result.

This Tuesday, online posts on the social media platforms for Camden Square and Tailor of Blue confirmed the mens retail stores had ceased trading and shut their doors for the final time this week.

An identical notice on both retailers’ social media pages said that the stores – owned by the same Limerick-based company – had ceased trading, and thanked customers for their “loyalty, support, and custom over the years”.

“Despite our best efforts, the continued rise in operational cots, tightening margins, and an increasingly competitive retail market have made it impossible for the business to continue.”
