IT was a bad Christmas for one e-scooter driver in Limerick City, who had their gift from Santa seized just one day after receiving it.
That’s according to a post on the An Garda Síochána Limerick Facebook page, which explained that, if driven dangerously, e-scooters can be seized by Gardaí.
The scooter, “just out of the box more than 24 hours”, Gardaí said, was being driven “extremely dangerously among pedestrians” in the Historical Quarter of the city on December 26 when community policing officers encountered it.
The scooter was seized under the Road Traffic Act and, Gardaí said, “the owner will now have to apply to the District Court to have it returned”.
