A NUMBER of local rugby and football clubs across Limerick are to receive government funding to improve walking tracks.
Sports Minister and Limerick TD Patrick O’Donovan confirmed that Bruff RFC will receive €30,000, while Abbeyfeale FC and Ballingarry AFC will receive €25,000 as part of the Healthy Ireland Walking Tracks fund.
“We know the benefits these walking trails have not only for members of these clubs, but the whole community. This funding will improve the condition of these walking trails so it’s more inclusive for everyone,” Minister O’Donovan said.
“The provision of walking tracks is also particularly important in rural areas where safe, well-lit walking routes may be limited.”
