A PLANNING notice from Limerick City and County Council has outlined plans for almost 60 new homes at Toppins Field in Limerick City.
The Part 8 planning notice detailed hopes for 57 new residential homes on the Toppins Field site, located between O’Donoghue Avenue and John Carew Road in the city.
According to the notice, the Council plans to develop the homes on three main plots at the site, including ancillary roads, pedestrian paths, hard and soft landscaping, and site services infrastructure.
Included in the 57 new homes would be 15 two-storey three-bed terraced houses, four two-storey four-bed terraced houses, one three-bed duplex apartment, 18 two-bed duplex apartments, one two-bed apartment, and 18 one-bed apartments.
Alongside the new homes, the Council plans for an access road to the estate via the East West Link Road from the John Carew Link Road, a new public open space (including play spaces), private open space areas, bicycle parking, footpaths, and public lighting.
It is proposed, the Council notice added, to connect to the existing water infrastructure, along with connection to existing storm sewer and sewer networks.
Car parking provision will include 20 per cent EV parking and ducting to the remainder of spaces for future electric charging points.
The Council said that the proposal has undergone appropriate assessment screening and environmental impact assessment. The planning authority determined that the development is not likely to have a significant effect on the environment.
Plans for the proposed development are available at City Hall at Merchant’s Quay and County Hall on the Dooradoyle Road between 9am and 4pm weekdays, or at mypoint.limerick.ie.
Submissions and observations on the plans can be made before 4pm on February 10 to the Council’s planning department by email at [email protected], via planning.localgov.ie, or in writing to Planning Department, Limerick City and County Council Offices, Dooradoyle Road, Limerick, V94 WV78.
