KILLINURE National School, with around 190 pupils a mile from the village of Boher, has received a quick cash injection to invest in new technology thanks to the RISE Community Fund supported by National Broadband Ireland (NBI).

Principal Liam Guiney and IT co-ordinator Jonathan Dervan commented: “Our school has ambitious targets for digital literacy education for all of our students, which is vital for the world we live in today and the future they will experience.

Since the installation of the NBI fibre broadband connection, the children and teachers have access to reliable and fast network connectivity.

They can experience the real benefits of digital technologies to enhance learning, teaching, and assessment so that our pupils become engaged thinkers and active learners.”
