SHANNON and Thomond claimed local bragging rights in the All-Ireland Rugby League at the weekend.
The Parish side consolidated their strong Division 2A table position with an impressive 21-10 win over Old Crescent at Takumi Park.
The visitors were 6-5 ahead at half-time.
For Shannon, tries were scored by Cian McCann and Darren Gavin, while Jamie Gavin was accurate from the boot through a hat-trick of penalties and a conversion.
Elsewhere in 2A, leaders Thomond squeezed past Bruff 22-20 at Liam Fitzgerald Park.
In 1A, Young Munster enjoyed a fine 43-31 win at Nenagh Ormonde; Garryowen suffered a 15-10 1B home loss to Highfield at Dooradoyle and UL Bohemian won away to Enniscorthy, 21-10.
