INDEPENDENT councillor Elena Secas quizzed Limerick City and County Council on the provision of a library in Castletroy, only to be told that it all boils down to capital and revenue.

Cllr Secas asked for a progress update on a library for Castletroy, and was informed that the Council has identified two potential sites currently in its ownership directly behind the Castletroy Town Centre shopping centre and adjacent to both primary and secondary schools.

“Further progress is set in the context of available funding both local and national, therefore we are not in a position at this stage to have a definite timeline for delivery.

In the interim, the mobile library in Castletroy will continue,” said Council librarian Damien Brady.
