THERE was a buzz around Shannon Airport this past Sunday when Irish boxing sensation, Olympic gold medallist, and two-time undisputed world champion passed through the terminals at Shannon Airport.
The champion boxer was returning to the US through Shannon, a post from the airport stated.
“The excitement across the terminal and among the team was real as Katie travelled through en route back to the US,” the airport posted on X.
“The Olympic medallist and world champion is an inspiration every time she steps into a ring – and was just as inspiring stepping through our doors.”

She took the time to meet and greet fans and staff, along with a few familiar sporting faces.
