The shortlist for this year’s RTÉ Choice Music Prize Irish Album of the Year 2025 has been announced. No Limerick based act in the final ten this year but the Lisbon based band pôt-pot features Limerick born artist Elaine Malone. The shortlist celebrates and highlights the wide diversity of music produced here, from psychedelic-folk to shoegaze and punk to euro-country.

Hot favourite will be CMAT but fantastic albums from Maria Somerville or pôt-pot could produce a surprise winner. The Irish Album of the Year 2025 will be announced live from Vicar St on RTÉ 2FM (7-11pm) on Thursday March 5 hosted by Beta Da Silva.
