‘Huge void’ for community following death of Limerick woman

FUNERAL arrangements have been announced for a woman killed in a house fire in Limerick last Saturday.

The body of the woman, named locally as Marguerite ‘Margie’ Neville (60s), from Limerick City, was discovered by firefighters inside a house destroyed by fire at Chesterfield Down, Singland.

Gardaí said their enquires into the fatal house fire would be determined by the results of a post-mortem on the body.

It was announced that the remains of Ms Neville, from Castletroy View, and late of Bowman Street, Limerick City, would lay in repose at Griffin’s Funeral Home, John’s Gate, from 4.30pm to 6pm this Friday (January 23).

Ms Neville’s Requiem Mass will take place at 10am on Saturday, followed by burial afterwards at Castlemungret Cemetery, Mungret.

Ms Neville, formerly of Dunnes Stores, Parkway Shopping Centre, is survived by her heartbroken family, including her loving children Aaron and Loren, grandchildren, sisters, brothers, and extended family.

Friends and work colleagues left tributes online, describing the late Ms Neville as a “loving friend”.

“My deepest condolences to all of Marge’s family, colleagues, and everyone who knew her at this very tragic and lonesome time. Marge, it was a pleasure to have known you,” one mourner wrote.

“You have left a huge void for everyone from Castletroy View and colleagues and customers of Dunnes Parkway. It is very hard to believe you have left this world so unexpectedly. You will be greatly missed by us all. May your gentle and kind soul rest in eternal peace,” another wrote.”
