Man rushed to hospital with knife wound

A MAN has been rushed to hospital after he suffered a knife wound during an incident at a house in Limerick this Sunday morning (January 25).

The man, in his 30s, sustained at least one stab wound to the side of his abdomen.

The man was found injured at a house in the Carew Park area of the city shortly before 11am this morning.

He was rushed by ambulance to University Hospital Limerick where he was in a stable condition.

“Shortly after 10.30am, on Sunday 25th January 2026, Gardaí and emergency services responded to an incident at a residential property in the John Carew Park area of Limerick,” said a Garda spokesperson.

“A man in his 30s was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Limerick for treatment.

“His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. The scene is preserved for examination and inquiries are ongoing.”
