
Limerick is set to welcome back the All we Have are Days festival over the St Brigid’s Bank Holiday weekend, with more than 100 artists performing across 50 shows from 30 January to 2 February.
The second annual festival promises intimate performances, rousing sessions, secret gigs and late-night clubs across the city’s favourite venues and pubs, celebrating Ireland’s vibrant contemporary music scene.
Denise Chaila will launch the long weekend with her first headline show in more than four years at The People’s Museum at No 2 Pery Square. Snow Patrol’s Gary Lightbody brings music and conversation to the 200-year-old John’s Church on Saturday with UL’s Dr Jennifer McMahon.
Ă˜XN – featuring Katie Kim, Percolator’s Eleanor Myler, and Lankum’s Radie Peat and John ‘Spud’ Murphy – have added a second festival date at John’s Church on Bank Holiday Monday after their Sunday show sold out. Support comes from singer-songwriter Anna B Savage.
New additions to the line-up include Sexy Tadhg, Irish-Palestinian artist RĂ³isĂn El Cherif, Limerick shoegazers Mother of Pearl, and 15-piece Ennis band Circus Ponies.
Donal Dineen will screen his short film Dance to Remember before taking to the decks with Irish dance trailblazer Arveene at Mickey Martin’s on Saturday night.
The festival also features panel discussions on culture and creativity. Saturday afternoon sees Days x London Irish Center converge at The People’s Museum for conversations with Arveene, BBC podcast commissioner Dylan Haskins, and East London barber Leah Hayden Cassidy, hosted by author Sinéad Gleeson.
Sunday’s Days x Edinburgh Fringe Festival discussion will explore the challenges of making art, featuring Limerick playwright Joanne Ryan, playwright Hannah Power and Edinburgh Fringe Artist Development Officer Martha Haskins.
Festival-goers can explore venues including Dolan’s, Mother Mac’s, The White House, Tom Collins, Pharmacia and The Glen Tavern whilst discovering the city’s rich history and heritage.
With performances from Paul Noonan and Brian Crosby’s Pilgrims, Dylan Flynn & The Dead Poets, Cuban-Irish singer Qbanaa and Dublin rapper Curtisy, the festival promises a weekend of musical discovery.
