EIGHT Limerick school are taking part this year in an annual programme aiming at increasing energy awareness in school and at home.

ESB Networks announced the expansion of its Weather Watch Programme, which helps students understand the connection between weather and electricity and energy consumption.

Following the expansion, eight Limerick schools are set to take part in this year’s programme, including Coláiste Nano Nagle, Coláiste Iósaef, Coláiste Chiaráin, Hazelwood College, Scoil Pol, Limerick ETSS, and Mungret Community College.

Participating schools receive a free in-class weather station to learn how weather impacts electricity generation and consumption, as well access to educational materials on the subject.
