Storm Chandra wind warning for Limerick

DESPITE previous hopes that the latest storm would pass over Limerick, a Status Yellow warning was set down for the Treaty by Met Éireann in the early hours of this morning.

The Status Yellow wind warning was set in place for all of Limerick city and county at 3am this Tuesday morning and will be in place until 11pm tonight, with hazardous conditions predicted for Storm Chandra.

The weather service is warning of very strong winds with gusty conditions, particularly along coasts and in exposed areas.

Possible impacts of Storm Chandra, according to Met Éireann, include fallen streets and loose debris, wave overtopping, and hazardous travel conditions.

The Status Yellow warning is in place for the entire county.

A more severe Status Orange storm warning is in place off the south coast, from Carnsore Point to Dungarvan to Valentia, with southeast winds predicted to reach up to gale force eight or nine this morning. This warning will sit in place until 7pm this evening.
