TWO Limerick men this month took part in an Irish National Citizens Parliament held at the European Commission in Brussels.

Con Cronin and Niall Mahon presented resolutions to MEPs and EU Commission members on the call to conduct regular critical analyses of personalised algorithms and to reduce the personalisation and targeting of algorithms.

They also requested the EU introduce a traceable identity to post on media platforms, and for the EU to review the protection of minors on social media.

The resolutions were drawn up by the Irish National Citizens Parliament on Media and Democracy during meetings held at Limerick’s Mary Immaculate College as part of the MeDeMap project.
