THE Kilmurray Cemetery Columbarium Wall project – the first of its kind in Limerick – is well underway.
This was the Council response to a query from Fianna Fáil councillor Catherine Slattery at January’s Metropolitan District meeting.
Cllr Slattery was also informed that two of the walls have already been installed on site and works are nearing completion.
Senior executive officer of the Metropolitan District’s Parks and Cemeteries Department, Sonja Reidy, explained that it is intended to make the niches available for sale to the public in the near future.
“There is a provision for a further four walls to be installed on site subject to the level of interest by the public,” Ms Reidy commented, subject to Part 8 planning consent.
