LIMERICK City Fine Gael TD and Minister of State for Older People and Housing, Kieran O’Donnell, has welcomed the announcement by the Office of Public Works (OPW) and Limerick City and County Council of the progression of the €12 million Castleconnell Flood Relief Scheme to detailed design stage.
The scheme, due to commence in 2027, will provide flood protection to 50 homes and businesses in Castleconnell once completed.
Minister O’Donnell said: “Having worked to finalise and progress the scheme to the planning application stage during my time as OPW Minister in 2024, I am delighted the scheme is now taking a further important step forward with the detailed design now taking place.”
