THE water quality at Corbally Baths was making ripples in City Hall when Social Democrats councillor Elisa O’Donovan asked the local authority for an update on the quality of the water at the once hugely popular bathing spot.
She also enquired if the plan is continuing for public bathing facilities at the site. Cllr O’Donovan was informed that the Council undertakes sampling and has done so since May 2019.
The Bathing Water Regulations, the Council revealed, requires four years of microbiological testing in order to perform an indicative assessment of the water quality at this location for bathing.
The local authority also explained that the current water quality is “poor” and not satisfying the limits set out in the regulations.
