Eve Stafford promises intimate evening of love songs and duets in historic Limerick venue

SINGER Eve Stafford is to perform a special Valentine’s concert at Saint Mary’s Cathedral in Limerick on Saturday 14 February, following the success of her sold-out show last year.

Valentine’s by Candlelight promises an intimate and atmospheric evening of love songs and romantic duets, performed in the candlelit setting of one of Ireland’s most iconic historic venues.

“People were truly blown away by the duets and the atmosphere in Saint Mary’s Cathedral last year. It was just magical by candlelight,” said Stafford. “This time, we’ve added even more duets to the programme, and yes… you can expect some brand new singing dresses too!”

The Limerick singer will be joined by her ensemble, featuring Fiona Linnane on piano and Anna Jane Ryan on violin. Special guest tenor Eoin Hynes returns for a selection of romantic duets, whilst Lyric FM broadcaster and guest presenter Shirley Keane will act as MC for the concert.

Last year’s performance, titled Lovebirds, sold out in the cathedral setting, prompting this year’s expanded programme with additional duets.

The one-night-only concert offers audiences the opportunity to celebrate Valentine’s Day in the atmospheric surroundings of the medieval cathedral, which dates back to 1168 and is renowned for its acoustics.
