THREE abandoned horses were seized from heavily populated residential areas in Limerick City.

A statement from Limerick City and County Council revealed that two horses were seized by the local authority in the St Mary’s Park area on January 25. Both animals were aged brown and while female horses.

A lone brown and white yearling was seized days later on February 3 from Hassett’s Cross in Mayorstone.

According to the Council, the owners or keepers of the abandoned animals are not known.
