A LIMERICK school was awarded for its empathy in class and in the community. Mungret Community College became the first school in Munster to be awarded the Narrative 4 Gold Empathy School Award.

The school was previously presented with bronze and silver awards. To earn the award, the school delivered a range of programmes and saw 12 teachers trained in Narrative 4’s evidence-based methodology, embedding empathy and wellbeing practices across the school.

“Earning the award really shows our dedicated commitment to empathy, kindness, and understanding as a school”, said teacher Aoife Ryan.

“And even after earning the gold award, we will continue to use story exchanges throughout the school to foster empathy and connection in the students.”
