MEMBERS of Limerick’s neurodivergent community gathered in the People’s Park on January 31 for the Treaty’s first NeuroPride Ireland winter picnic.
Attendees enjoyed snacks, toys, games, and music. This gathering was cold and misty but attendees braved the chill and kept the warmth going in the Limerick bandstand with blankets, hand warmers, a battery-operated stove display and coffee and hot chocolate.
A variety of stim toys and colouring books were made available, organisers said.
This was NeuroPride Ireland’s second Limerick event, after local Paula Hynes hosted a picnic in the park in 2022.
The 2022 picnic had five people, signalling significant growth in this year’s gathering.
NeuroPride Ireland is a grassroots volunteer-led organisation founded in 2021.
