LIMERICK rapper DATQIDEXCEL (pronounced that-kid-excel) has released his debut mixtape this week. Titled ‘The Qid From South’ the 20 year old emerging artist explores maturity, grit and his lifelong dreams.

The 12 track recording showcases Excel’s versatility and maturity drawing inspiration from the best (Jurassic 5, Kanye and Jay-Z) over quality productions made in collaboration with Michael O’Connor who also mixed the project. It is a mix of previous singles and new recordings that showcase the MC nailing it on the introspective ‘Southside Pistol’ the smooth groove of ‘IrishAmericano’ and the dancefloor leaning ‘About You’.

Speaking about the mixtape EXCEL says “This project has been a long time coming, and it epitomises everything that is me. From goals and ambitions, portraying my hunger for success, to the everyday thoughts that go through my mind. I want this project to let people know I’m serious with music, with my music. I’m here for the long run.”
