THIS spring, families, friends and solo adventurers are invited to do Limerick Greenway their way — walk, run, cycle or wheel — and embrace the unexpected.

Limerick Greenway’s accessible 40km off-road trail is welcoming visitors back for another season in West Limerick. Following the opening of a new facility at the Limerick Greenway Hub @ Rathkeale in 2025, further hubs are planned for 2026, strengthening Limerick Greenway’s reputation as a world-class outdoor experience.

Winding through scenic countryside, Limerick Greenway showcases rich heritage, local biodiversity and warm hospitality along the route. Designed with mobility in mind, it offers safe, inclusive access for all ages and abilities, with thoughtfully planned pathways and facilities encouraging everyone to connect with nature.

Five hub towns and villages — Rathkeale, Ardagh, Newcastle West, Barnagh and Abbeyfeale — provide excellent visitor amenities. Journeys can begin at any entry point, with the option to continue from Abbeyfeale across the Limerick–Kerry border to Listowel.

Located under an hour from Kerry, Clare and Shannon Airport, under two hours from Galway and less than three hours from Dublin, West Limerick is an ideal base for any Irish break.
