World-renowned tenor Russell Watson is set to return to Ireland in May for three exclusive performances, including a special concert at University Concert Hall, Limerick, on Friday 29 May.

The acclaimed crossover artist, affectionately known as “The Voice”, will be accompanied by long-time collaborator Mike Moran, the legendary pianist, producer and arranger whose extensive credits span the entertainment industry’s elite.

Described by the New York Times as a performer who “sings like Pavarotti and entertains the audience like Sinatra”, Watson has released ten studio albums to critical acclaim over his 25-year career.

His debut album, The Voice, released in September 2000, shot to number one in the UK charts where it remained for a world record 52 weeks. Simultaneously topping the US charts, Watson became the first British male singer to achieve a simultaneous UK/USA number one.

From humble beginnings in Salford, the tenor has risen to international stardom, performing for Queen Elizabeth II, King Charles III, the Pope and the Emperor of Japan. His rich voice seamlessly bridges classical and popular music, creating what fans describe as an unmissable musical experience.

Speaking about the Irish dates, Watson said: “It’s several years since I have performed in Ireland. Irish audiences have always made me feel so welcome and I can’t wait to bring this show to Ireland.”
