An original crime drama exploring the collision of Dublin and New York underworld families

Kingdom, written by Sharon Bromell, follows the success of her play The 27 Club, which was performed at the same venue last March.

The production tells the dramatic story of the King family, a powerful Dublin crime dynasty seeking to expand their operations across the Atlantic. When their son Zac relocates to New York to escape the family business and start afresh, his path crosses with Jessie, a Broadway dancer pursuing stardom at any cost.

As their worlds collide, the pair discover they are more deeply connected than either realised. Both attempt to escape their pasts, only to find themselves drawn back into the criminal underworld they sought to avoid.

The production showcases thirteen actors and eight behind-the-scenes volunteers from Killer Productions, the drama group founded by Bromell. The company combines talent from multiple community drama groups across Limerick. The writer also adds her thanks to Sean Choill Sports Complex Parteen where Killer Productions rehearse each week.

“The talent that Limerick has to offer is outstanding and I am excited about showcasing this to the audience,” said Bromell.

The writer began her creative journey following participation in scriptwriting classes led by Karen Fitzgibbon, local author and tutor at Creative Studios, supported by Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board.

Bromell, who has a background in media, theatre, and event management, is also producing and directing the show. She is hoping for another sell-out performance following the success of her previous production.
