BREAKING ground on a new Garda station for Castletroy could be as far away as 2029.
That’s according to Minister for State at the Department of Public Expenditure, Kevin ‘Boxer’ Moran, answering a parliamentary question from Limerick TD Conor Sheehan.
Deputy Sheehan asked when the Office of Public Works would identify a suitable site for the long-awaited Castletroy Garda Station.
Minster Moran explained that the Justice Department published its Sectoral Investment Plan last December, which outlined capital projects to 2030.
Some are under construction at present, the Minister said, and some will begin construction “over the period of 2028 to 2029”.
“A new Garda Station for Castletroy, County Limerick, is one of those key projects to be progressed”, the Minster said.
