THE Limerick City branch of the Vintners Federation of Limerick held their annual general meeting on February 16 at Flannery’s/1314 on Cecil Street in the city. Guest speaker on the night was national VFI president Michael O’Donovan.
The meeting discussed business rates, public safety, footfall, Government-imposed costs, and other rising expenses.
A new committee for 2026 was elected on the night including Eamonn O’Rahilly of the Spotted Dog (chairperson), JJ Mulcahy of The Old Quarter (vice-chair/NEC), Libby Hickey of Souths Bar (secretary), Mike Ryan of Pharmacia (tourist liaison), James Collins of Collins’ Bar (treasurer), and Ger Callanan of the Glen Tavern (PRO).
