OVER 60 posts were permanently or temporarily vacant in a range of community healthcare network (CHN) roles in the Mid West at the end of 2025, with Limerick accounting for over 40 vacancies.

The figures were obtained by Limerick Labour TD Conor Sheehan though a parliamentary question on vacant community health posts across UL Hospitals Group.

The vacancies are spread across professions including dieticians, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, podiatrists, speech and language therapists, social workers, social care leads, and admin staff.

As of December 31, 2025, there were just over 60 vacant posts in the region.
