FINE Gael councillor Gregory Conway has called on the Council to carry out a traffic calming inspection on the three entrance roads to Kilmallock, at the R518 (Bruree), Bruff, and R515 (Elton) roads.
The Council told Cllr Conway that traffic calming measures can only be done within a speed limit zone “if, following the completion of a traffic survey, an issue of excessive speeding is identified, the Municipal District office would submit a case”.
The Council also pointed out that any such improvement measures will require a funding source to first be identified. In the short-term, gateway signage with speed limit information are due to be installed shortly on the three entrance locations to Kilmallock.
