A MAN in his 20s was arrested this past Thursday morning (March 5) in connection with the seizure of around €100,000 worth of cannabis in Limerick City.
Gardaí said that the cannabis herb seizure was the result of a search on a car in the city area at around 6.30pm on March 5.
A man in his 20s was arrested under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996, and the drugs were to be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for further analysis.
Gardaí said that “investigations are ongoing” following the search and seizure.
The seizure and arrested were carried out under Operation Tara, a nationwide anti-drugs strategy aimed at disrupting, dismantling, and prosecuting drug gangs at local, national, and international levels.
