THE 30TH An Garda SƭochƔna Coiste Siamsa Awards took place in Limerick last month celebrating past and present members of the force for their contribution to the sporting world.

The awards are held each year to recognise the achievements of members of the force who partake in sports at the highest levels  across numerous disciplines all while being full-time members of An Garda SíochÔna, combining and balancing the demands of both.

Involvement in sports at all levels (part-time, amateur, recreational and at the highest national and international levels) and involvement in sports administration in sports club across the country is an integral part of An Garda SƭochƔna Community Policing ethos, being involved and active in our communities, a spokesperson for the force said.

The 2026 awards were hosted by Limerick Garda Division on February 20. Charity partners for the event were Children’s Grief Centre and Limerick Mental Health Association.
