Rehearsals have begun for The SpongeBob the Musical at the Lime Tree Theatre, as Mary Immaculate Dramatic Arts Society (MIDAS) prepares to bring a burst of colour, comedy and heart to the local stage playing on Thursday March 12.

The high-energy production promises to transport audiences to Bikini Bottom with spectacular music, vibrant choreography and a cast of instantly recognisable characters. At the centre of the story are SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick Star, who rally their friends to save their home from impending disaster.

With its uplifting messages, big laughs and show-stopping moments, the musical is billed as a family-friendly treat, celebrating community, courage and optimism. MIDAS’s creative team says the show showcases the society’s talent and ambition, offering a joyful, feel-good experience for audiences of all ages.

The production is expected to be a highlight of the theatre’s programme, giving local performers the chance to shine in a bold and imaginative stage spectacle.
