
CUMANN na mBunscol Luimnigh has won the Best Public Relations Award, which was presented at the Rine Hotel in Newmarket on Fergus, County Clare at the weekend.
“It’s the first time that Limerick has won this award, although we have entered projects in this category for many years,” revealed Joe Lyons, Chairman of Cumann na mBunscol Luimnigh.”
“The project may contain evidence of social media material, website screenshots, newspaper articles, magazine articles, fixtures booklet and annual publications promoting activities of Allianz Cumann na mBunscol. All printed material has to have appeared in a newspaper or publication of some sort.”
He added: “The judges were impressed by the breadth of material and the orderly, structured manner in which it was presented. And, credit here to Niamh O’Dea of St Paul’s National School, Dooradoyle.”

- External Walls: Up to €8,000 Grant
- Attic: Up to €1,500 Grant
- Cavity Walls: Up to €1,700 Grant
- Internal Dry Lining: Up to €4,500 Grant
Also, Brother James Dormer of Doon was elected to represent Cumann na mBunscol on the Ard Comhairle of the GAA.

“Brother Dormer has given a lifetime of service to the promotion of Gaelic games, not just in Limerick but in postings in Lismore and Wexford,” stated Lyons.
“Most of his teaching career was spent in Doon CBS and Sexton Street, where he has nurtured and encouraged generations of young hurlers. This is an honour richly deserved and evidence of the esteem in which he is held throughout the country.”
