Public called to have their say on new Patrickswell Community and Sports Complex

SUBMISSIONS are being sought by Limerick City and County Council on the proposed new Patrickswell Community and Sports Complex.

The development, proposed to be located in Lisheen Park, Ballyanrahran, will include construction of one all-weather synthetic GAA pitch, an all-weather synthetic soccer pitch, a new multi-use games area, basketball court and a single storey pavilion building.

The 350sq/m building will consist of dressing rooms, a referee’s room, public toilets, meeting room space, team room/shop area, store room, and plant room.

Limerick Council is proposing the new development which, if approved, would also see the removal of the existing multi-use games area, existing soccer pitch, and security fencing to the soccer pitch.

Other works in the plan include the provision of a ball stop netting, perimeter spectator fencing to the GAA and soccer pitch an illuminated pedestrian walkway to the perimeter of the pitches.

New playgrounds, natural play areas, outdoor exercise equipment, boules court, and a ping pong table will also be included.

Provisions for a car park to include a bus set down area, EV parking and disability parking, as well as new access and exits into the new car parking from the existing roadway form part of the plans.

Submissions must be received on or before 4pm on Monday April 6.
