Limerick rapper Strange Boy has released Immortal, the lead single from his forthcoming second album Say Nothing, due in September 2026, via Welcome to the New World.

Released on March 6, the track is a deeply personal meditation on early trauma, self-perception, and survival. Growing up in Caherdavin, Strange Boy’s music has always drawn from the streets, characters and lived experiences of his youth — raw, unfiltered, and rooted in place. Immortal distils that vision with striking clarity, exploring how hardship can simultaneously justify and distort a sense of self, before arriving at hard-won gratitude.

Strange Boy approaches rap as a modern seanchaí tradition — storytelling in a contemporary form, blending hip-hop, spoken word, poetry, and Irish traditional music into a sound often described as traditional Irish rap. That cultural grounding has earned him the Liam O’Flynn Award and a performance at the National Concert Hall, while his debut album Holy/Unholy announced him as a distinctive and serious artistic voice.

“Rap, to me, is just storytelling in a modern tongue — the same fire, different form,” he says.
