Possibility of overnight snow in Limerick

MET Éireann has warned of the possiblity of overnight snow in Limerick this Thursday night (March 12) into Friday morning.

The weather service issued a Status Yellow snow and ice warning for Limerick, along with Cork, Kerry, Tipperary, Waterford, Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo, and Wicklow.

Met Éireann said that “showers may fall as sleet or snow with some accumulations possible, mainly on high ground”.

Roads users have been warned of possible difficult travel conditions and poor visibility.

Across today (Thursday), Limerick is currently under a Status Yellow rain warning up to 3pm. The weather service has warned of heavy downpours with possible spot flooding, poor visibility, and difficult travel conditions.

An all-Ireland Status Yellow wind warning is also in place today, lasting up until 6pm. The warning includes potential displaced loose objects and debris, fallen trees or branches, and further difficult travel conditions.
