LIMERICK City and County Council says that it has prepared a preliminary layout for a columbarium garden in Mount St Lawrence Cemetery.
The design will allow for multiple columbarium walls with access to the garden from the main road and via steps from within the cemetery.
The garden will be wheelchair accessible and fully landscaped.
“The project is being progressed inhouse with a timeline of May 2026 for lodging a Part 8 planning application.

Delivery will be subject to funding,” the Council explained in response to a question from Fine Gael councillor Sarah Kiely.
