THERE will be no public sale of tickets to Limerick’s hotly anticipated opening couple of fixtures in the Munster Senior Hurling Championship, it has been confirmed.
Limerick are set to run up against Cork at Páirc Uí Chaoimh (capacity: 45,300) on Sunday March 26 and Clare at Cusack Park in Ennis (capacity: 20,100) on the opening weekend of May.
In a statement this week, Munster GAA said that “due to capacity constraints at some venues, along with the expected demand from our clubs, those opening rounds will be distributed through county boards to ensure fair and equitable access for competing counties. County boards have been notified of their tickets allocations for each game.”
Munster GAA added that “this approach reflects the fact that four of the first six games are being hosted in smaller-capacity venues, while the other two games involve Cork, Limerick, and Tipperary, with the first-round game between Tipperary and Cork being a repeat of last year’s All Ireland Final”.
“Any unused or returned tickets from county boards will be released for public sale on the Wednesday prior to each game.”
It was stated also that “a limited number of juvenile group tickets will be available for all matches apart from the games in Ennis.”
Season ticket holders will be accommodated.
Tickets for Limerick’s two closing provincial fixtures, both at home, against Tipperary and Waterford will be available for general sale.
Prices have been confirmed: Adult Stand – €35, Adult Terrace – €30, Students/OAPs Stand – €30 and Students/OAPs Terrace – €25.
