THE Tavern Sessions, a new event inspired by the legendary Greenwich Village Folk Scene of the 1950s and 60s, will come to life in Limerick City this Sunday (March 22).
Organised by local musicians Eoin Ryan and Mark Cusack, alongside filmmaker Liam ‘Sham’ de Buitléar, the trio are planning to showcase some of Limerick’s finest upcoming talent at The Tavern on Upper William Street on a monthly basis.
Performing at the first showcase is Eoin Ryan, The Caterers, Jake Flynn, and Sea Oh When.
By transforming the local watering hole into a cosy, intimate space where both established and aspiring songwriters can hone their craft and debut new material in a collaborative and non judgemental environment, the organisers said this has the makings of a special free event in the heart of the city centre.

Also performing at the event are Limerick based group The Caterers, an all woman supergroup featuring Limerick singer-songwriters Isabelle, Naima, and Kayla. They will be performing material from each member’s solo catalogue and original material written by the group.
Limerick’s own Bob Dylan-inspired folk troubadour Jake Flynn will also perform on the night. Jake has established himself with performances at venues such as Melody and The Record Room. He will be playing a mixture of original material and covers.
And lastly, Galway-based group Sea Oh When will be performing in Limerick for the first time in over a year. The group consisting of Conlaed Ó Cearbhalláin and Conor Nash will be performing their dreamy, indie-pop inspired original songs.
