BREAKING: Teenager charged with hit and run which killed nurse

A teenager has been charged in connection with a fatal hit and run in which a nurse died in Co Limerick, last month.
The 19-year old was arrested by Gardaí in the Castleconnell area of Limerick yesterday.
He is due to appear before Limerick District Court this afternoon charged in relation to a hit and run collision on Friday, 13th February in which 33-year old Aine O’Reilly died.
Ms O’Reilly, a qualified nurse from Pallasgreen, had been driving to work at the out of hours GP service Shannondoc when her car was struck by another car. The driver of the other vehicle fled the scene.
A man who was driving a third car that was caught up in the collision was treated for minor injuries.
On Thursday, a Garda spokesman said: “Gardaí continue to investigate a fatal road traffic collision which occurred on the N24 near Grange West, Boher, Co. Limerick on Friday 13th February 2026.”
