57 COMPUTING students at the University of Limerick collaborated with 10 Limerick and Mid West charities and social enterprises to develop practical digital solutions at the third annual Givebackathon at Engine, Innovate Limerick, during the Limerick IT Summit and Mid West Tech Fest.
First year immersive software engineering students worked with groups – including The Urban Co-Op, Limerick Mental Health Association, Bedford Row Family Protect, and the Children’s Grief Centre – to address “real and pressing digital challenges” at no cost to the organisations.
The Givebackathon places student-led responsible innovation at the heart of the region’s digital agenda, organisers said.
