FINE Gael councillor Tom Ruddle has called on Limerick City and County Council to cut back the tree branches which he said are currently over hanging onto the busy N21 road at South Quay and Cullinagh in Newcastle West.

“They are hanging very dangerously over the main N21 to Killarney/Tralee,” Cllr Ruddle told the March monthly meeting of the Newcastle West district.

The local authority explained that the trees referred to are on private lands.

They said they would write to the landowners regarding the concerns.
